There are four modules in the test
- Speaking:
It’s a face to face test with an examiner the time allotted to this test is 15 minutes, actual test may last for 11 to 14 minutes, this test has three sections
Personal questions: Generally four to five questions,
Que Card: You are given one question with few sub questions on the same topic (all questions to be answered in one go and you are required to speak up to two minutes),
General or follow up questions: In this section you will again have 4 to 5 questions could be follow up questions from the Que card or could be questions from general understanding of social subjects.
- Listening: it’s a 30 minutes test and you get additional 10 minutes to transfer your answers to the answer sheet, there are four audios that are played each audio has a length of 6 to 7 minutes and there are 10 questions to be answered based on each audio, in total there are 40 questions to be answered.
- Reading: The reading test is a sixty minutes test and contains three passages to be read, there are 13 or 14 questions to be answered based on each passage, typically each set should take around 20 minutes to complete.
- Writing: Writing task has two questions for General test you get to write one Letter and one Essay, the topics for letter and essay both are related to general understanding of personal and social matters,
For Academic test you get two questions Task one is a graph or chart that you have to understand and describe in text format (basically read a graph and describe it in Text) while task two is an essay.
