IELTS Essay, Question with Answer

Source of question is Ielts online tests, while the answer is prepared by me.

Answer

The mankind has been facing challenges since eternity and is majorly able to overcome challenges, survive and even prosper. In my opinion, my country will be facing the challenge of uncontrolled growth of human birth in coming decade, and this may lead to other issues like lack of quality education and harm to environment. I will further elaborate upon my thoughts in following paragraphs.

My motherland, India is already one of the most densely populated countries of the world and the corrective measures taken by authorities are yet to deliver desired results in terms of reducing the birth rate. This explosion of population will lead to various challenges in times to come, the agriculture sector would have additional pressure to produce more to feed the ever growing population, resulting in use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the cultivable lands. This will impact not only the soil but also the water bodies will be contaminated.

To elaborate on other challenges that we as a society or nation would face are our manufacturing capacity would have to be enhanced many fold, this may create air pollution. That is our land, water and air, all the natural resources that are needed for survival of society will be impacted. Moreover, our education sector may struggle to accommodate the huge number of students who will be enrolling and may lead to additional burden on the exchequer.

Having presented the forthcoming challenges, I would suggest that we can deal with these issues as well. Population control methods or advantages of family planning should be included in academic curriculum. Creating awareness campaigns and presenting it to the citizens through, television, social media or other mass media would be a big help. Establishing rural health camps, where healthcare professionals can educate the less educated section of the community, would bring in positive results.

To conclude, although this looks to be an uphill challenge, the situation is not that grim. Successful planning and execution of family planning programs will ensure that we are able to reduce the birth rate and overcome multiple challenges.
