E-MAIL WRITING

You get 27 minutes to complete this task and you should write the response in 150 to 200 words.

Ideally you should try to write 180 or 210 words and under no circumstances you should be below 150 words.

How to present an effective answer:

Ideally use three or four paragraphs.

Introduction

Main Body/Details

Demand/Request

Introduction paragraph should contain two elements, One being an overall introduction to the topic and two being the reason for the e-mail

Paragraph two should contain the details as provided in the question with elaboration

Paragraph three should have the request or demand as presented in the question

Sample Question

You recently purchased a smart phone from a store in town. However, the phone worked fine for only three days, then it started to hang and shut down frequently for no reason. You went back to the store to talk to the manager but he was not available.  So you explained the situation to the salesperson but he was rude to you and provided no assistance. Therefore, you left without a resolution.

Write an email to the store’s manager in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

• State the problem you are facing with the phone you bought.
• Complain about the rude behavior of the salesperson and the bad customer service.
• Describe how you want the store to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.
